Item Description

A very rare and notable Colorado quartz from the Red Feather Lakes area of Northern Colorado. Muliple generations of quartz are visible on this striking piece. The large lustrous, sharply terminated quartz points are richly included with rich brick-red hematite. Preferentially, the second generation is marked by the tiny included crystals blanketing the prism faces of the large crystals with striking effect. Clusters of third generation colorless crystals are the final accent. A MAJOR surprise on the bottom are the smoky quartz crystals! The large crystal tip is gently dinged. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Purchased in 1978 from Turner's Jewelry (the Charles Turner Collection). Collected or acquired in about 1970, according to the label. Possibly a unique Colorado specimen. A MUST for the Colorado or Quartz collector. Value???
