Item Description
This is certainly one of the most sparkly and unusual combination specimens we have seen from ANY Mexican locality! This elongated, pod-like, CABINET, specimen consists of an infinite number of parallel-growth, splendent, metallic, hematite plates layered with glassy gypsum crystals wrapped around a "seed pod" of gossan matrix. Rotating the piece in bright light gives this incredible "disco ball" light reflectivity! Truly an amazing phenomenon. Specimens of any type from this obscure Chihuahua mine are rare and a combination specimen of this style and form may be unique. Older material. Ex Dave Stoudt Mexico Collection # 260 and formerly in the Consie Prince Collection. Valued at ??? - hard to say as we have never seen anything quite like this from any locale. $500-1000 seems a fair range, though MUCH, MUCH BETTERI IN PERSON!!!
