Item Description

Here we have a fine quality, and notably hard to find specimen from a tiny pocket at an obscure Chinese locality, found in 2018 at Sijiang. These attractive and distinctive pieces are certainly some of the best quality Hematite specimens from any locality in the entire country. They really do compare favorably to fine quality Hematites from the Swiss Alps, Elba Island or Brazil in terms of luster, form and overall appeal. This miniature sized piece is filled with sharp, highly lustrous (splendent), well-formed, hexagonal bladed crystals of dark metallic silvery-black Hematite measuring up to 1.2 cm across, with only a tiny bit of attached matrix underneath. Very little damage, and it looks wonderful in person. The combination of the high luster, well-formed crystals and beautiful form make it a must have specimen for any fan of Hematite, Chinese minerals or worldwide oxides.
