The famed Hematite specimens from Elba Island are some of the most distinctive and fine quality examples of the species from any locality, not only in Europe, but around the world. While many people might associated Hematite with the "iron rose" habit, the crystals from Elba can show notably blocky habits with broad, reflective smooth faces. This cabinet sized piece hosts excellent quality, sharp, very well-formed, dark silvery colored metallic crystals of Hematite measuring up to 2.7 cm which are sitting on matrix to create a showy display piece. It's hard to convey the quality in the photos/video, but take my word for it, this is a very good piece of this classic material. Most of the crystals are undamaged, and the corner of the main Hematite is not broken, it just has some negative / skeletal crystal forms. Valued $2,400.
