Item Description

Hematite is one of the most well known metallic species for collectors, and the specimen from Itabira, Brazil are some of the best quality examples in the modern era of mineral collecting. Most people are familiar with the famous "iron roses" of Hematite, but this piece is a very attractive, impressive, sharp, thick, highly splendent, notably well-formed, striated crystal of silvery-grey metallic Hematite. It's not the typical form that people associate with this locality or the species in general. It's a great specimen with well-defined crystal faces, which is certainly not common for Hematite. There is a contacted area on the left side and the back of the crystal is incomplete, but the undamaged faces are supreme quality and truly look better than the photos or video can convey. If you appreciate fine crystals of Hematite, don't pass up this beautiful and rarely seen example from this classic locale. Priced at $1,000 in the inventory.
