Hematite is one of the most well known metallic species for collectors, and the crystals from Brazil are some of the best quality examples in the modern era of mineral collecting. This piece is a very attractive and impressive, sharp, notably well-formed, very lustrous/splendent, blocky modified rhombohedral/scalenohedral specimen of silvery-grey metallic Hematite. It's not the typical "iron rose" that people associate with the species. It's a very nice specimen with a stout, robust crystal - not common for Hematite. Complete on the front, but it has a separation mark on the back where it was removed from the pocket. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection. Valued at $950.
