Item Description
This is a classic, alpine Eisenrose. The Hematite is bright, has a great metallic luster, and is well-formed. Many alpine Hematite specimens are not as aesthetic as this, nor do they have the sculptural quality of this specimen. There are numerous rosettes on this piece, varying in both size and complexity, with the largest being 2.9 cm across. This is an excellent example of an alpine Hematite, and when you click on the photos you can see just how good the Iron Roses really are! A sculptural and aesthetic Hematite eisenrose from the historic St. Gotthard Massif of Switzerland, this choice, old-time piece was formerly in the collections of R.M. Wilke (in 1943! ) and the well known Colorado collector, E. Mitchell Gunnell. Valued $1500
