Item Description
This is a fantastic thumbnail Hematite specimen. N'Chwaning Hematites are among the finest examples of the species in the ever found, along with being some of the largest, most lustrous crystals extant. This particular specimen is a superb, doubly-terminated, sharp, metallic, silvery-grey colored modified trigonal crystal that is nearly a complete "floater". The front face of the main Hematite is very lustrous (splendent) with the high mirror like reflectiveness. The reverse side has a tiny bit of attached host rock, but I can't find any actual damage, so I'm going to call it's essentially pristine. Very hard to photograph, but really impressive in person. A great quality thumbnail of these famous Hematites, which in my mind are as good as anything from the Swiss Alps, Brazil or anywhere else in the world.
