Hematite and quartz combination pieces from Brumado are a classic, but this very showy piece is highly unusual and in fact, of rare quality. A sharp, 4.6 cm, blocky hematite crystal is elegantly perched on a flattened quartz crystal cluster with a nifty spire. Most unusually, the upper portion of the hematite is heavily etched, while the lower portion is splendent and only partially etched. The base of the hematite is ringed by glassy magnesite rhombs.
