Item Description
This is a great combination/association specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen, has some pale green Amazonite, but the most important aspect of the piece are the other associated minerals. It features metallic grey pseudmorphs of Hematite after Siderite associated with Smoky Quartz crystals and sitting atop pinkish-white Microcline with a few colorless "tumbling dice" cubes of Fluorite! To find this many species so well-balanced on one specimen it quite unusual for this area. This piece was one of the few specimens from this claim to have all of these species together on the same piece. Keep in mind that this specimen was collected over 30 years ago (Summer of 1977) when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic".
