Item Description

An unusual hematite location: 30 minutes south of Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines is the Brézouard Massif where these hematite specimens were found in the granite during road construction and around fallen trees in the 1980s. This is a rich cluster of blocky, striated crystals, massed together on matrix with really good luster from those old discoveries. Collecting at Le Haycot is forbidden as the site is now protected as part of an archeological mining district. Ex. Alex Venzke.
