Item Description
This is dazzling small cabinet cluster consisting of numerous plates of mirror-like Hematite crystals from Nador, Morocco. These brilliantly lustered, bright silvery gray, platy to wedge-shaped crystals from less than 1 cm up to 4 cm across and most are a millimeter or less in thickness. The large flat faces are mostly super lustrous and mirror-like with few growth features to a couple large crystals that are embossed like tiny sequins all over the surface. The entire piece is an architectural articulation of of platy crystals in a tangled and attractive array. Some minor damage is present, and evident, but overall a brilliant and showy piece from finds here in the 1990s. From the noted European and worldwide collection of Kurt Hefendehl. Valued $2000-3000.
