Item Description

A striking, large, splendent, grayish-brown hematite specimen of classic style for the old English locales from the 1800s. But it is from Morocco. It is more lustrous than most of the English hematites (even accounting for the fact that, as with all of these, one must assume they are lightly buffed in any case). The sculptural piece has incredible dazzlingly bright "eyes" on the botryoids, that look like the multiple lenses of insect eyes! A broken botryoid and a bit of periphery wear are noted, but this is wonderful recent material to the market. If this WERE English, and it would be easy to simply "say it was so," the price should be over $1000. Hefty at 1359 grams or 3 pounds. AND YOU CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE, I would bet, between this and its English cousins.
