Hematite

Rarely does a metallic mineral inspire such awe as Hematite can. This is a show specimen from the Bouse area in Arizona featuring lustrous, metallic, silvery, bladed crystals which are in layered growth. The piece has an interesting "rosette"-esque growth. The crystals are in great shape and show wonderful hexagonal form with beautifully gun-metal luster. I think it's an impressive thumbnail from this classic lesser known Arizona locality.
