Hematite

Rarely does a metallic mineral inspire such awe as Hematite can. This is a showy specimen from the Bouse area in Arizona featuring somewhat lustrous, metallic, silvery, bladed crystals which are in layered growth creating somewhat "rosette"-shaped groups. The crystals are in great shape and show wonderful hexagonal form with beautifully gun-metal luster. I think it's an impressive miniature from this classic lesser known Arizona locality.
