Item Description
This unusual Chinese combination piece features a hemispherical, lustrous, ball of small helvite crystals, grown together and accented with contrasting quartz. Highly unusual, and unlike others I have seen around. Complete, except only one small contact at bottom of the ball. Helvite from the Huanggang mining complex has really redefined the species, and standards for what collectors can expect. Large, pointy crystals of pseudo-triangular shapes are all over the market and I have also had many in the past. These flooded the market from 2012-2015 and then tapered off, with few being found anymore. However, this was somewhat of an oddity, which came out of a straggler pocket found in 2016 which I purchased in China at some point. Valued $750-1000
