Helvine (large crystals)

Item Description

A very impressive full cabinet sized display specimen filled with excellent and large crystals of Helvine measuring up to 2.5 cm on edge. It's incredibly rare to find 1-inch Helvine crystals of this quality from any world locality. The crystals have a deep reddish-brown color in the center, and a lighter golden-brown hue on the exterior edges. A small scepter style Quartz crystal can be seen at the base of the piece for a nice touch. I honestly can't find any major damage anywhere, maybe some minor superficial imperfections, but the piece is in amazingly good shape for the size. This is certainly one of the richest examples of the species we've ever seen from this mine, and it's rather aesthetic to boot! The piece comes from the worldwide mineral collection of geologist, Demetrius Pohl (#1868), and was valued at $1,200 from several years ago, and I honestly value it higher closer to the $2,500 range for its size, quality and the fact that they are much harder to find on the market as compared to about 10 years ago.
