Heliodor/Aquamarine on Schorl

Item Description

A so-called "Aquador" combination of beryl grading from aquamarine to heliodor within the same crystal as if it could not decide what to be as it grew out, forms a rosette of delicate-looking crystals atop a contrasting black matrix. And, the matrix is schorl, a tourmaline! So we have beryl on tourmaline, for a contrast of colors and textures and species all together. It looks like a flower, made of crystals, in pastel colors. It is 360 degrees, perfect, complete all around! As with so many Pohl miniatures, it is a jewel. We selected such pieces for this auction with purpose, to show you what is coming over the next 10-20-30 years as we work through her collection! Much of it is made from exactly the same kind of choices, selections of perfect and beautiful small specimens; even as people think of her only for larger pieces and for Tsumeb.
