Item Description

Hedleyite is a rare bismuth telluride, which is found in only about two dozen countries in the world. Joseite-B is a rare questionable/doubtful species, according to the IMA. The bismuth, tellurium sulfide is named for its relationship to joseite (same elements with different amounts) and is possibly just sulphur-rich pilsenite (bismuth telluride). In any case, whichever it is, it is hard to obtain. This piece features both Hedleyite and Joseite-B according to the label. This very rare association specimen from an uncommon gold mine in British Columbia. Ex Paolo Matioli Collection.
