Item Description
Hauyne from Germany is one of the most intensely colored mineral species out there. The species is part of Sodalite group, and is rarely seen in well-formed crystals over a few mm. Obviously, the glowing electric color is what attracts collectors, and the fact that most pieces are relatively small makes it difficult to find on the market. The majority of the pieces from the Eifelvulkane are faceted into gemstones, which are often small. As a matter of fact, a stone weighing 0.50 carats is pretty significant. Here we have is a beautiful rich royal blue color piece of Hauyne, but please note it is not a complete crystal. It's nearly 100% water clear and the color is incredibly saturated despite the smaller size.
