Item Description
Light grayish-blue, translucent, isometric hauyne crystals to 9 mm are scattered on all sides of the vuggy volcanic matrix on this showy, highly representative example from this locale, near the Type Locality. The well-placed largest crystals, front and center, are a real plus and these are fairly large crystals for the area. Hauyne is an uncommon sodium, calcium, aluminum silicate. LIght pink fluorescence. A clean repair is in the upper left hand corner of the matrix itself, where a chunk that came off was put back on for balance and symmetry. The crystals are not repaired. This is a VERY rare specimen with sharp crystals for the locale and almost nothing has ever been on the market from here. Ex Bob Trimingham Colletion. valued $1000
