Item Description

These are the first specimens of Hauyne that we've ever had to offer from any locality in Myanmar. While they may not be the most eye-catching examples of the species, they are important for the fact that they are confirmed Hauyne from Dattaw, which is an interesting locality due to the fact that is has a confluence of alluvial, pegmatite, skarn, contact zone, and marble deposits all together in one spot. With that said, this set features 5 pieces of blue to greenish-blue massive / uncrystallized Hauyne with a bit of attached matrix. None of the pieces are true gem quality, but they do show good translucency when backlit. The total weight of all 5 pieces is 23.14 carats. Don't pass these up, you may never see anything like them again. From the collection of Bill ("Burma Bill") Larson of Fallbrook, California. Bill is a well-known gem and mineral dealer as well as a miner and collector. Bill traveled the world for decades in search of fine gems and minerals, and was directly involved in the in-person acquisition and importation of superb specimens and stones from Myanmar (Burma).
