An amazingly sculptural specimen of splendent, jet-black, tetragonal, stepped-growth hausmannite crystals from the Kalahari. The sharp form of this piece is superlative and the glassy 1.1 cm calcite rhomb with a splendent hematite crystal set at the base are a very fine accent. The excellent luster causes these crystals to sparkle even in medium light. An excellent specimen by any standard and better in person! The world's finest hausmannites come from here and this is a very choice example.
