Item Description

Distinctive, attractive, and quite unusual combination piece from the famous Nchwaning Mine. Hausmannite normally occurs in lustrous pyramidal crystals, but these micro-Hausmannites occur in sharp black spherical growths, not unlike many manganese oxides. The luster on these spheres is sparkly, as you would expect, and they are really quite pleasing to the eye. The largest is about 3.5 cm across. The contrast with the complete layer of 1 mm Rhodochrosite crystals is quite stark, and very attractive. An excellent, unusual piece.
