Hausmannite on Andradite

This is a terrific miniature from the famous N'chwaning Mines of South Africa. This distinctive combination features four classic, pseudo-octahedral Hausmannites set wonderfully on a matrix of solid Andradite. The Hausmannites are complex, up to 1.6 cm on edge, and have a good, sub-metallic luster. Adding to the combination are numerous individual Andradites, some of which actually adorn the Hausmannite. The Hausmannites sit perfectly, and I mean perfectly, on the red Garnet matrix, creating an excellent, aesthetic specimen. Valued $1250
