Item Description

Langban is one of the most prolific and important mineral localities in the world. I would say it's THE most prolific locality since more species are found here than anywhere else, AND it's the type locality for 71 species (tied with Tsumeb). This is an old time specimen of the well known manganese oxide, Hausmannite. The piece features a few predominant, sharp, well-formed, bipyramidal tetragonal jet black crystals of Hausmannite on marble matrix. The piece comes with an old label from Schortmann's Minerals.
