Item Description

Razor sharp Hausmannite crystals to 1 cm just pop on the stalk of stark white chalky matrix making for a dramatic miniature! There are over a dozen, well isolated, metallic black, pseudo-octahedral Hausmannites with mirror luster on this elongate, triangular-shaped piece of thin matrix. Hausmannite is a bi- and tri-valent manganese oxide that is relatively uncommon, but is abundant enough in the Kalahari Manganese Field to constitute manganese ore, itself! A superb miniature with character.
