Item Description

Hauerite is a very rare manganese sulfide, and this is an exceptionally large and sharp modified octahedron. The rust-brown crystal has moderate luster. One termination is repaired, but is out-of-sight in the preferred display views. Still, if it were perfect, this would sell for over $!000 due to the large size. We are always told that this material dates to the mid-1800s. Large, highly representative old-time material from the Patricia Barker Collection.
