Item Description
A gorgeous cabinet display specimen of the famous Harmotomes from the Strontian Barytes Mine. This locality has produced some exellent examples of this obscure Zeolite species. The crystals on this specimen are notably sharp and lustrous with perfect monoclinic form and range from virtually transparent (the tiny ones are almost water clear) to translucent. The largest crystal measures 1.0 cm at its longest dimension. A fairly thick layer of associated yellow-golden Calcite on the back of the piece makes for a nice touch. This one is a real beauty for Harmotome with virtually no damage and excellent displayability. The piece comes to us from the collection of Wouter Van Tichelen. Don't miss out on this one, it's a worthwhile cabinet display specimen of a species that most people do not have in their collections.
