Harmotome (classic material)

Item Description

This is a very good quality and attractive small cabinet display specimen of the famous Harmotomes from the old Strontian locality in Scotland. This locality has produced some of the best examples of this obscure zeolite species ever found. The crystals on this specimen are notably sharp and lustrous with perfect monoclinic form, measuring up to 7 mm at their longest dimension. The stark white color and reflective faces, give the piece a brilliance that is not often seen in the species, especially in crystals this size. This one is a real beauty for Harmotome with very little damage and excellent displayability. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html).
