Item Description

Hambergite specimens from the famous Little Three Mine in San Diego County are incredibly rare to find on the market. I've only seen a select few of them over the years. This thumbnail specimen is a superb example of this highly elusive material featuring a sharp, striated, thin, prismatic, off-white colored crystal with a few accenting Hambergites flaring off the side. The piece even has pretty good luster, and the termination of the main crystal is in superb shape as I looked at it under the microscope and it's totally pristine. If you collect thumbnails, rarities, San Diego County material or just California minerals, do NOT miss out on this incredibly hard to find piece from one of the most beloved localities in the area. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5010). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
