Item Description
From a new find at the lesser known Sieroszowice Mine, in Poland, these specimens showed up in Tucson are some of the most colorful and certainly aesthetic Halites you'll see from any locality. I've only seen a few other Halites from this locality, and we picked up a small parcel of attractive specimens in Tucson so keep an eye out for them in the next few weeks / months. The captivating green hue is what immediately draws the eye on this piece. The crystallization is superb for the species with amazingly sharp, lustrous, skeletal cubic faces and gorgeous three-dimensional form. The green hue is caused by inclusions of the VERY rare copper halide, Tolbachite, which is only found in a few places in the world. I'm told from our source that the material also has small inclusions of Sulfur, Bitumens and Covellite interestingly enough. After looking closely, I really can't see any damage with the naked eye. The piece displays wonderfully from several directions. A really cool and unsual Halite with excellent form, color and quality that would make a perfect addition to your collection. I don't know if there will be more of these, but if you want one, be sure to pick one up while they're available.
