Item Description
Sculptural and uncommon 360-degree, small cabinet, crystallized cubic halite specimen from the famous Great Salt Lake of Utah. Densely intergrown, translucent cubes with waxy luster comprise the flattened piece. Some of the larger cubes on the front are enhanced with interesting skeletal features and reach up to 1.3 x 1.3 cm. The halite has been coated and sealed to prevent degradation. Collected by John Holfert, a well-known Utah field collector. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022) and acquired in 2013. A rare, rich and very showy halite specimen from the noted locale.
