The Halite specimens from the Carlsbad District in New Mexico are truly world-class for their superior size, quality, color and GEMMINESS. This crystallized form of table salt is not often seen in gem quality crystals, especially in this size. This particular piece dates back to 2010 and is a stellar example of these iconic Halites. This piece is a sharp, well-formed, VERY GEMMY elongated cube with near optic transparency showing mostly a pure colorless interior, along with inky purplish-blue zoning along one edge. A great example of this fantastic and now incredibly hard to find material. It's not likely we will see any of these again any time soon, so if you missed out on them when they first hit the market, now is a great time to get your hands on a fine example. Valued $1,250.
