Halite (ex Willard Wulff Collection)

Item Description

A very good sized display specimen of baby blue Halite from Carlsbad, New Mexico. The piece is translucent/gemmy with sharp cubic form and good luster in areas. A great glimpse into how the specimens looked from this area before the intense blue and purple specimens were found a few years ago. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936.
