Item Description

Although Halite is saddled with the common name of salt, it is a completely legitimate mineral with a beauty and attraction all its own. This small cabinet piece is composed of outstanding, hoppered Halite crystals, the largest and sharpest of which is 2.4 cm. The Halite has a delicate pink color, and the luster, particularly on the edges of the hoppers, is amazingly pearlescent. This is a fine, representative specimen from Searles Lake, famous for these specimens. NOTE that they are sensitive to humidity.
