Item Description

The Malad Quarry also produced outstanding gyrolite specimens, such as this exceptional large combination. Two lustrous, translucent, olive-green, bladed gyrolite balls, to 2.4 cm, are very aesthetically set in the sculptural basalt matrix vug lined with starkly contrasting sparkly druzy quartz. A 6 mm, gem-like colorless calcite rhomb beneath the gyrolites is a super accessory. The soaring population of Mumbai closed the quarries in the area.
