Item Description
Gyrolite is one of the more uncommon Zeolite Group species worldwide and is relatively uncommon from the Deccan Traps of Maharashtra State. The very finest examples come from the extinct quarries around Mumbai (Bombay). A string of olive-green bladed gyrolite balls are very aesthetically set in the sculptural large vug lined with contrasting sparkly spherical quartz crystal aggregates and accented with calcite cleavage rhombs at both base and on the left wall of the vug. The Mumbai quarries closed in the 1980s, due to population growth. This is a superior large combination example with expressive quality.
