Item Description
A beautiful and showy small cabinet display specimen featuring a fine quality 2.1 cm, spherical group of rich brownish-black Gyrolite sitting atop drusy Quartz on basalt matrix. A smaller Gyrolite can be seen buried down in the vug for a nice accent. Well-crystallized display specimens of Gyrolite are virtually unheard of outside of India, and when you find a piece like this with such rich and eye-catching color, it's a real treat. Indian trap rock minerals don't get enough appreciation these days from collectors, and it's a shame because the majority of these minerals are truly the finest crystallized examples of their respective species in the world.
