Item Description

Yes, there are a good number of Indian Zeolite specimens on the market but they must appreciated for what they are. Despite the copious number of the pieces out there, it's very important to recognize that many of these specimens are simply the finest crystallized examples of their respective species extant. This piece is from a find from the early 1980s when some of the best Gyrolites in the world were found. If it were not for the Deccan Trap, I don't think many people would even be aware of Gyrolite as s species. This small cabinet features many attractive, spherical aggregates of cream colored Gyrolite measuring up to 1.4 cm across sitting on grey-black basalt matrix. Great quality overall with no major damage. The piece is actually quite showy and three-dimensional, which is not often the case with these specimens. One day (eventually) India will not produce any more of these Zeolites (and associated species), and they will more than likely receive great recognition for being the amazing display specimens that they are.
