Gypsum with Hematite inclusions

Item Description

Magnificent cluster of elongated water clear gypsum swords with reddish brown hematite inclusions (originally sold in China as stibnite inclusions, by the way). The main attraction is the exceptional 27 cm x 2 cm glassy terminated crystal. However, several equal quality smaller sized crystals offset the main crystal adding to the aesthetics. Note the small gypsum crystal forming an angle on the left side. There is also some minor iron oxide coatings, possibly hematite, and a later stage of smaller crystalline gypsum coating on one side. Definitely a lot to desire in this rare style large gypsum from the Qinglong Mine. Ex. Bob Byers Collection.
