Item Description

Mineral specimens from this former underground gypsum mine (Alabastine Mine), now a large storage facility, are rare and are seldom available. This classic steeply terminated, water-clear gypsum crystal looks like it's from the famous mines at Naica, Mexico, but it's not! The complete all-around, nearly pristine, partially doubly terminated crystal is aesthetically attached to a bit of matrix and iron oxide-tinted gypsum (alabaster). A very aesthetic, excellent and rare specimen from the Robert Nowakowski Collection.
