Item Description
A very rare and striking combination specimen from an unknown South Dakota locale and obtained from an old collection. An absolutely water-clear, gem, 3.3 x 2.7 cm, gypsum twin is elegantly set on matrix with a sharply terminated, 3.2 cm, lightly frosted barite crystal. A couple of smaller gypsum blades and a plethora of barite crystals cover the fine-grained sanstone matrix. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with the large gypsum having only trival bruising. We have never seen a South Dakota gypsum and barite combo remotely of this style and quality.
