Item Description

A possibly unique, very rare and pristine large two-sided floater gypsum plate from the famed Red River Floodway of Manitoba. Beautiful, gemmy golden gypsum blades are attached on the edges of the plate of smaller first generation gypsum crystals. Most specimens from here are striking, large gemmy blades attached to balls of smaller crystals or radial clusters of large crystals. Many of these larger blades are dramatic fishtail twins. The larger edge crystals glow with rich golden color, when backlit! Both gypsum generations are fluorescent and phosphorescent under SW and LW UV light. Ex Richard Rossi Collection.
