Item Description

A classic specimen of the fairly well known yet hard to find examples of Gypsum pseudomorphing after Glauberite from Camp Verde. This piece is an attractive "rose"-esque specimen featuring excellent, remarkably distinct, sharp, well-formed crystals with a gentle almost porcelain-like white exterior. The original habit of the tabular Glauberite crystals is completely preserved now by the Gypsum. The largest individual crystal measures 4.3 cm across. The piece is essentially a complete "floater", as I cannot find any real damage or point of attachment anywhere. It should be noted that Calcite also pseudomorphs Glauberite from here, and some people have said that the pseudomorphs are a mixture of Calcite and Gypsum together replacing the Glauberite.
