Item Description

A dramatic, sculptural and highly aesthetic large gypsum combination specimen from Naica. Both crossed crystals, with distinctly different habits, are water-clear. The striking, 11.0 cm, blocky crystal is doubly terminated and has a classic, densely striated face. The impressive, 13.4 cm, blade is also doubly terminated. The matrix is sparkly, gray, drusy quartz. The piece is in outstanding condition for such a soft mineral. The blocky crystal is essentially pristine, with only infinitesimal bruising. The blade has only very trivial edge wear and termination bruising. The contact with another crystal has no damage, per se. Extra fine, older material from the Dennis Mullane Collection.
