Item Description

These specimens are instantly recognizable for their unique appearance.  They started coming out as far back as the 1960s from the banks of the Red River Floodway.   This small cabinet is composed of a "ball" comprising tabular / compressed, sharp, translucent, golden-brown color crystals of Gypsum which are the base for several GEM quality, pale golden-yellow color "fish-tail" twins of Gypsum measuring up to a 2.2 cm aesthetically flaring out in several directions.  This is a complete "floater" specimen with no point of attachment.  It formed in calcium clay/sediment, which was washed away to reveal to gorgeous specimen within.   Additionally, the piece is fluorescent to boot showing a lovely blue color.   It's important to note that this specimen is that it is NOT repaired, which makes a difference with this material, as a lot of them were glued back together.  These are destined to be considered a Canadian "classic" in the future.  We had this one priced at $950 in the inventory for the excellent form, aesthetics and fine quality.
