Item Description
CLASSIC material from Naica featuring a GEM QUALITY / WATER CLEAR, sharp, well-formed, beautiful, monoclinic colorless crystal group of Gypsum highlighted by a three-dimensional group of gorgeous, cream colored vitreous "angel wing" Calcite flaring off the side. The Calcite almost looks as though it has formed as "cast" after a preexisting mineral, but it's hard to say for sure. Excellent condition all around, and truly one of my favorite specimens of Gypsum that I've seen from Naica. Valued at $1,800. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6143). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
