Item Description
Mineral specimens of any type are rare from this obscure, large marine basin that hosts large potash deposits (MINDAT). This is a rare and very striking, water-clear Gypsum crystal with a beautiful termination. The piece is completely colorless and despite some separation marks where other crystals grew, this is a significant and HARD TO FIND Gypsum specimen. This is a rare very fascinating and sculptural gypsum crystal from this uncommon locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12213). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
