Item Description

Striking, water-clear, stout, tabular, gypsum spearpoints with striated edge faces are dramatically set on gossan matrix on this fine plate from a famous "Cave of Swords' find at Naica. A couple of gently bruised tips and trivial edge wear are noted, but have minimal impact on the excellence of this aesthetic piece. For such a soft species, it's almost impossible to find a pristine specimen. Classic and excellent old-time Naica from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Purchased from Plummer's Minerals of San Diego in 1963.
